At Sazyes, quality and care are paramount in medical and psychological assessments. Increasingly, we are also using digital research in the process. Not as a replacement, but as an addition. In some cases it can be more pleasant and efficient for clients to do (part of) the examination online. Neuropsychologist Wendy, who has a lot of experience with this method, explains how this works in practice.

A second opinion at Neurological expertise give clarity

The start of digital research

The use of digital surveys at Sazyes began during the corona period. "At that time, we were looking for ways to allow examinations to proceed responsibly and efficiently," Wendy explains. "Especially the psychological examination, part of a Psychiatric examination, proved to lend itself well to this." Clients responded positively. Not having to travel gave peace of mind and made the process more accessible. For Wendy herself, it took some getting used to at first: "I wondered whether I would pick up enough signals via a screen. But precisely in this first, more exploratory part of the expertise, digital works very well."

How does a digital survey work in practice?

A digital survey follows the same steps as a physical survey. The questions, methodology and instruments used remain exactly the same. Yet there are differences. "Online you sometimes miss small nonverbal cues," Wendy explains. "The way someone sits or reacts can give more information in a physical space. That's why we never do an entire expertise completely digitally. A physical appointment always remains part of the process."

Wendy finds that the click between researcher and client does not depend on the medium: "Whether you speak digitally or physically, the relationship you build is the same. Through experience, I know how to put someone at ease, even through the screen. And we take our time: a break for coffee or to take a breath can just as easily be done online."

Benefits for client and professional

Digital components of an expertise can bring many benefits. For clients, it means less travel time and more flexibility. Also, some find it safer or more pleasant to talk from the comfort of their own environment. For professionals, it sometimes gives more space in scheduling and can contribute to a more efficient process.

"For clients who have trouble traveling or feel more comfortable at home, digital really makes a difference," Wendy says. "But it also helps us as professionals to schedule investigations better."

Always customized at Sazyes

Thus, at Sazyes, online research is not a goal in itself, but a tool used when it contributes to the client's convenience or desire. It always complements a careful and reliable physical examination.
